SHERMAN OAKS NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MOTIONS IN FAVOR OF GETTHECELLOUT

On December 16, 2010, the GetTheCellOut Core Committee made a formal presentation to the Sherman Oaks Neighborhood Council Land Use Committee regarding the cell tower on Albers Street. Our formal presentation included an 88-page bound book & DVD containing our contention and supporting documentation that the installation of T-Mobile's cell tower on Albers Street was executed with excessive violations of the Los Angeles Municipal Code and with reckless disregard for the neighborhood community. Several speakers presented the issue to the SONC Land Use Committe, and petitioned that the Committee vote on the following 3 motions:

1. Publicly object to the T-Mobile AGF powering the Cell Tower on Albers Street on the grounds that T-Mobile failed to follow the required Specifications and Procedures per City of Los Angeles Municipal Code.
2. Request that the Board of Public Works initiate a formal investigation of the AGF installation process on Albers Street.
3. Join other Neighborhood Councils in the city-wide effort to enact a comprehensive new AGF/WTF ordinance with protections for communities and residential neighborhoods to the fullest extent of the law.
The SONC Land Use Committee unanimously voted in favor. Their motion can be viewed by clicking here.

On January 10, 2011, the SONC Land Use Committee Chair Ron Ziff presented said motion to the Executive committee for a vote, and the Executive Committee unanimously voted in favor of the motion. In addition, Mr. Ziff read aloud his letter to the Board of Public Works, requested an investigation of the Albers Street cell tower installation. Click here to view that letter.
